Interview 1 - Luis

Meet Luis, a young man whose life took an exhilarating turn when he received his first job offer. Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, he moved to Washington DC for college before landing his first full-time job in Boston. It was during that time when he got the incredible opportunity to work in Luxembourg, while his family still lived in Washington DC. As we sat down to chat, Luis recounted the story of the happiest day of his life and the emotions that flooded him at that time.

For Luis, that day was a testament to his hard work and determination. The job offer meant he would be starting a brand new life across the world in Luxembourg, a place where he knew no one. It was the textbook definition of the world being his oyster, with so much possibility lying ahead, just waiting to be discovered. Little did he know that accepting the job would lead to some of the best years of his life, as he recalls.

As he reminisced about that pivotal moment, Luis shared that the feeling of accomplishment for landing that job motivated him to push even harder. He was ecstatic about the freedom and infinite possibilities that came with embarking on a new journey. At the same time, he admitted to having butterflies in his stomach, an adrenaline rush fueled by the fear of the unknown, akin to being in a rollercoaster. It was a mixture of emotions, but the excitement of starting fresh and building a new life in Luxembourg far outweighed any apprehension and he accepted the position.
